Every ant nest is an ecosystem. The short video above shows a handful of myrmecophiles found in the top chambers of a single Liometopum apiculatum colony. Look for ant crickets (Myrmecophilus manni), myrmecoid and limuloid staphylinid beetles (Sceptobius schmitti and Dinardilla liometopi), one myrmecophilous spider, and one myrmecophilous velvet mite. *also shown, one host ant and one rogue termite
